This video is exceptional, the statement of one woman who is surviving breast cancer. It is graphic and educational, passionate and cogent. What the Susan G. Komen Foundation has done is not reparable. It is a cataclysmic fail. Other organizations will step up to find better ways to fulfill the need it once met.
Other organizations will create new and better approaches - without intrusions from politics or religion. The Foundation channeled the love, compassion and hard work of millions of women and men. It was never about the Susan G. Komen Foundation, but about the heroic strength, determination and generosity of women living with cancer and surviving it.
Time to look forward. Time to move past a failed organization's betrayal of everything we thought it had stood for. Breast cancer is not a battlefield for the culture war this nation is suffering through. It is too important for that.
